Pardoe's Trail

At the last meeting I talked about setting up a Pardoe’s Trail trip later this summer. At this point I’d like to get a date figured out. I doubt we can get to the top any earlier than July or August since it’s pretty high. I’m leaning either toward the weekends of 7/12, 8/30 or 9/6. Barrett Lake is scheduled for 9/13 and August is pretty full with Sierra Trek and Dusy. Any thoughts?

For those that don’t now the trail here’s some info:

If you only open one of these threads open this one! This guy drove it in a 4x4 Toyota Van! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/496850

Eric and I stumbled onto this trail last year while looking for Tragedy Springs. Read my write up here: https://posse4x4.mystagingwebs.....php?t=2907

If your vehicle meets the requirements to be in the club you’ll have fun on this run. There are some tricky spots toward the top, but if you don’t feel like pushing it you can hang out and wait until the rest of us to come back.

I plan to camp and will figure out somewhere as we get closer to the date. This is a fairly long trail (15 miles in and out) but there are plenty of places to cut out on the way home. A lot of it is dirt road so it can go by pretty quickly.

If you have any date preferences, let me know otherwise I’ll pick.

😀

I had to link to this picture from the van guy because it is too cool. Talk about capable straight out of the box. 😀

Looks like a tough trail for a mini-van.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I'd like to go on this trip. I can't tell which date would work better though. My on-call schedule will be changing in the next few weeks so I'll know then. We're adding a new guy to the rotation so I won't be on-call quite as often. YEA!

Not yet, there are a lot of staffing changes going on with my team at work right now and the schedule is likely to be changed soon.

As it stands right now though, 7/12 is the only weekend mentioned I'm available.

That's the one that was starting to look bad for me. Any other better weekends?

I'd be looking at the weekend before triple trail, or 8/30 as possible dates.

From the Triple Trail Trek topic:

Dusy Run

I'd still also like to figure out a time for a Pardoe's run.

I can't believe how full my calendar is and it doesn't even feel like I've got much to do. From now through September I've got the weekends of 8/2, 8/16 and 9/27 available.

7/12 is the only weekend I CAN'T make.
