My friends from Washington will be running the Rubicon on the 6th & 7th (actually camping at Loon on the 5th as well). I will be running with them on the 6th & 7th. I might go up on the 5th and camp with them as well. They have 8 rigs going all the way through. If anyone is interested in tagging along let me know.

I haven't heard that. The group is camping there starting Sunday night. I am going to meet up with them at 10a on Monday in the staging area. Should be a good group. Would you be camping or just coming for the day?

Reports from the Trail.
We got home last night and man what a trip. Here is a big shout out to Jeff for joining the group. We had 8 rigs total, two that had breakage and one of our compadres was Helicoptered out at Rubicon Springs. It was quite a trip! During our first day in the Granite Bowl the YJ in our group broke his rear axle shaft. He had just had it installed the week earlier. We used a Satellite phone to radio a wife to go into Sac and buy an axle shaft and meet us at Ice House and 50. While one Jeep headed to get the replacement axle shaft, one Jeep stayed with the disabled vehicle and the rest of the group headed into Buck Island to setup camp. On the way in we took the slabs vs. Old Big Sluice. Camp was great and we took a swim in the reservoir. The YJ was fixed and made it to Camp by 9p. I got to try out my new Hammock (instead of a tent). I was pretty impressed with the ease of setup and how comfortable it was. In the morning the two Garys (the other two black JKs) and I went back up the slabs to run Old Big Sluice. Jeff was my copilot on the run. We came back down to find the group was slowly moving through Big Sluice partly because one of our Jeepers wasn't feeling so good. Also shortly after passing Old Big Sluice Gary T noticed his steering got pretty tight. We looked up front and found that his PSC Ram had ripped his EVO steering bracket apart. In doing so it also cracked his D44 Front axle. Luckly we had a welder with us and were able to weld the D44 back together and Gary T was able to keep going. Gary T's front axle was sleeved and I think if not for the sleeve that axle would have snapped in half. The group finally made it to Rubicon Springs late in the day. Four of our rigs stayed in spend the night as was the original plan. The YJ and another JK, Jeff and I headed out and were off the trail by 7:30. It took us 2 hours from Rubicon Springs to make our way up Cadiallac Hill and out to 89. I was home by 10p.
I have some video I need to look through and tons of Pics. Here are few key shots.. I have now officially done the Rubicon!

From my understanding...
Little sleuce is the tough trail
Old sleuce is between buck island and little sleuce
True big sleuce is the trail, between buck island and rubicon springs.
The slabs bypass old sleuce
The granite bowl is near the start of the trail
Soup bowl is just before spyder lake.
Bummer about the breakage. I'm glad everyone made it home safe.
