I am unsure who put this on the calendar (since they are the run leader).

We are 60 days out for this run.  Are there any other details?  I am interested in participating.

Thanks!

My plan is to do a 3 day trip July 8-10 Monday-Wednesday.  Last year we went from loon to Tahoe, I was thinking about meeting and starting at Wentworth springs campground this year at 8.  Day one would end at Buck Island.  Day 2 can start with a run back to the RTF loop for those who want, then return back to Buck to pack up before heading down to the springs for the night.  Day 3, I am planning on heading up Cadillac hill and out through Tahoma.  I'm also open to suggestions by those going if we want to get a different experience out of the trip.  Jamie, if your not going to make it this year, I need your friends contact info for the blackstone.

Hahahaha, I actually bought a 17 inch one after that trip (Grant has the 22 inch). I plan to be on this run and as long as Grant is not working a fire he should be there with me. Love the idea of starting through Wentworth!

Count me in too! (And my son Nate) I’ve never done Wentworth side, so I’m open to that. Rest of plan sound good to me. But it would be nice to get into the springs a touch earlier so we can enjoy them some too. 🙂

I wouldn't be opposed to heading straight down to the springs in the morning since I'm not sure if I personally want to do the granite loop this year.  We could always split the group if enough people want to stay and do the loop so that nobody is left behind or alone in the event of a trail break.

I'm a solid maybe on this trip. I am planning to attend, but I have a few hurdles to overcome before I fully commit.

Um...what?

I can go (slowly) with you directly to the springs.  I'd enjoy the relaxing.  Are we shooting for the dirty dozen site?

Last year we stayed right by the main meadow in the VIP, but if I recall correctly we were talking about dirty dozen this year.  I'm open for anything.

Should we look into getting a reservation at the Springs?

Sounds good to me.  Hopefully we can get a good head count in the next few weeks as well as a group majority on which camp to go to.  I would be fine with dirty dozen if that's what people want.  It's an easy spot from the trail but isolated enough to not have any extra traffic.

I'll defer to run leadership so far as where we stay at the springs.  Either is fine, and the fee is minimal.

I will be meeting up at the trialhead rather than camping the night before the run.  Its been a while since I've started on the wentworth side.

I'm good with whatever the group wants to do in terms of the route and the camping locations. Now the RTF loop, that's a different story! I'm still trying to get my shorts and driver's seat clean after last year.scared

But I read that they are modifying the trail near trashcan hill, we have to go see what they have done grin

Yeah, there were several pucker moments in there (especially when you never knew if your brakes were going to function), but I loved seeing the river running down the slabs, if we don;t go all the way on the loop maybe we can just cruise in to trashcan hill and then go back, I think that was the most scenic part of the trail.

It looks like they stopped taking reservations May 5th.  I didn't see anything planned on their calendar until the back half of the week so we should be fine.   Last year the camping was wide open except for what they were setting up for that upcoming weekends event.

Good point - mid week we might have our pick. Where we were last year was real nice; would not mind that again. Or I also really like Pine Camp/ Rocky Point. But I’m open to what ever.

Myself +1

With my work plan changes I may have a conflict and miss this run unfortunately.  I'll know more in 2 weeks.  Just an FYI.
