Ohh I see. And move into the springs Friday?

Yes, the plan was Thursday at Buck Island and Friday at Rubicon Springs.

Since the Rubicon trip might not work on the scheduled dates, we need to consider other options. One option is to do the Rubicon on a different date, perhaps a week earlier than planned. Another option, given that people have scheduled time off for September 12-14 would be to consider doing another trail or trails on those days.

If we decided to do another trail, we could run Slick Rock south to north on Thursday and then Run Deer Valley south to north on Friday and camp on the Deer Valley Trail Friday night, coming out on Saturday. Since I won't be at the next club meeting please indicate on this thread what works best for you.

i would be down to go up Deer Valley and camp at the north water crossing on Friday night, then go back down and do deer valley and slick rock N to S on Saturday.

I only have Fri & Sat available, so I will need to pack in my wheeling time haha 😛

I like the idea of slick rock south to north and then deer valley on Friday.

The B group could meet us at the hermit valley deer valley trail entrance Friday?

Personally I would love to do the Rubicon but given the circumstances I think it would be best to do another trail or trails on the same dates because those who have expressed interest may have already scheduled the time off on those dates. I have only gone on Deer Valley to the second river crossing from the north to do trail maintenance, so I'm not really familiar with the trail. I have done Slick Rock a few times. I think your suggestion sounds good. Are you going to the next club meeting? I won't be there because I will be at Sierra Trek. If you are going to the meeting can you discuss this option with the club Brian?

I am going to the meeting so I will be able to bring it up.

Yeah I still want to do the Rubicon. I wouldn’t mind if it was just a normal weekend run either.

I was at Wright’s Lake this weekend and as of about 2pm yesterday when I left area, signage still indicated Barrett was closed.

I know there was discussion at the last meeting about options to the Rubicon. What was the consensus?

Yeah it was south to north slick rock-->deer valley--> and maybe strawberry? Camping 2 nights along the way.

I brought up that A group would still leave Thursday and B group meet at the deer valley entrance for deer valley/ strawberry.

Whatever happens I am still heading out Thursday as I am off that day and Friday.

That sounds like a good plan to me.

Has a decision been made on this run yet?

I'm in for Group A Thursday 9/12 and just need the Thursday meetup time and place. Happy to run whatever the group decides and camp out two nights.

Thanks,

Mark

This run was changed to the Slick Rock, Deer Valley and Strawberry run on the same dates. Please do not post any more comments on this thread. See the new thread for details. Thanks!

I deleted the invite for the original Rubicon run so there was no confusion with two calendar posts.

Thanks. I couldn't figure how to delete it from the calendar.
