We may see you there. Not sure how early we're arriving on Friday, but the family's camping Friday through Sunday and typically camp right at the river crossing/trail head entering from the Union Reservoir side (opposite Lake Alpine). There's really only one somewhat challenging spot on the trail, but its a great place to camp.

Today went great! It was fun to see old friends and make new ones. We had 4 JKU for the run today. Brad you would have fit right in. Three of the JKU were black and all three had coilovers. I kinda felt bad for the 1 white Jeep, I guess he didn't get the memo. 🙂
The Slick Rock trail is extremely short. My book says 5.6 miles but really only 3 miles of it are what I would call a trail. Of the three miles there are only 2 real obstacles. The first one has several bypass lines and challenging lines so you can make it at hard or as easy as you want. The 2nd obstacle is a legit challenge with no bypass. There is three lines, one of them is just nuts (which two of our rigs attempted and one had to winch out to avoid flipping) It is doable in most rigs though. (not the crazy line the easier one) We got to watch a JKU of 44s go through and an FJ Cruiser that was open in the front. I saw a TJ that was Open in both diffs and he had to winch even the easiest line. A cherokee that was locked front and rear made it up the second hardest line with only a 3" lift. Its a very scenic area. I don't know how soon I will be going back its a long drive for not much wheeling. We drove the trail in about 1 hour if you don't count all the stopping to watch other people. However, I might go back and camp as its just so nice there.
