Provided all goes well on the Hell Hole run, I think  I will be running Sourgrass Trail (off HWY 4 past Arnold) on Sat 5/29/21. Anyone interested?

Edit... Here are the details for the run:

Sourgrass (aka Rattlesnake Creek Rd; aka Pine Needle Flat Rd; aka 05N02R) Trail Run

Saturday May 29th 2021

Meet at 9:00am at the Camp Connell General Store/Chevron (address: 4036 CA-4, Camp Connell, CA 95223)(38°18'35.3"N 120°16'38.4"W)
* Store hours can vary but they should be open by 8am if you want to come early to gas up, pick up drinks and snacks and what not

Depart for trail head at 9:20am
* Trail head is in the Sourgrass Day Use Area (38°19'19.2"N 120°12'56.2"W)
* We will air down at the trail head ~9:40am-10:00am

Goal is to start the trail at 10:00am and be off the trail by ~2:00pm depending on trail traffic and creek crossing fun (trail is in/out)

Trail was fairly tame up to the creek crossing last time I did it, so this would be a good trail for lesser modified vehicles. 33s and enough lift to fit them + rock sliders and skids will get you there pretty easily. If we cross the creek, metric 35s+ and rear locker will help a lot. But, I'm not sure what flow in the creek or traffic on the trail will be so we will evaluate the creek crossing when we get there and make it a game time call. Time permitting, we can run the fire-roads back to Camp Connell/Dorrington & surrounding area, or head to the Lube Room and grab a late lunch and a beverage of choice and enjoy their new back patio/deck area.

Bring your HAM if you have one and we can run one of the club frequencies.

Should go without saying ... but positive attitudes, willingness to help others, tread lightly, etc. all apply.

A day on the trail is priceless!!

Ugg. Wish I had a good suggestion for you... but you've covered everything I'd think of. Hope you figure it out though.

Not yet, I have a couple other things I am going to replace before I get to that. my PCV was clogged it was not even clicking when I shook it. Just replaced it but I found a couple bad connections on 4 of my vacuum lines as well. Back to the auto part store so I can put it back together and test lol.

Jeep will be getting a new, modified & specialized track bar brace on June 3rd at Cloakworks in Rancho Cordova. Hopefully this will be the last mention of this continuing story. So, though I would love to come along, I'll hold on any runs until this work is done. Again, be safe & enjoy.

No worries. Hope all goes well with the fix. Maybe I’ll see you on the June 5 maintenance run.

Was a good day on the trail. Turned out to be a Yota fest - my 1st Gen 4Runner; 2 3rd Gens; a 5th Gen and an FJ Cruiser. Trail was crowded and there were tons of people disbursed camping but it was a good time nonetheless.

do you know if they will be re-enforcing the frame around the track bar.  i would think with all the stresses that area has had that would be a good idea.

Yes Gil, they did remove all the previously welded items, kept some of the frame repairs & added more. They manufacture their own bracket (with1/4" steel) & it's one heavy duty unit. They have replaced many of these on JK's, JL's & JT's with so far, none that have come back to them for failures. Once you see it, it's clear. Hopefully, this is the final fix.
