On to tuesday.

8am at the camino USFS station. This is where the chainsaw class was held.

The effort involves running to the meadow from the 88 side. Any stock jeep can make it.

The USFS is requesting a couple seats too. The problem is that i don't have a jeep..

Anniversary weekend. If I showed, it would have been my last interaction with the club...

Um...what?

It should be easier. And you can cut out if necessary.

Ive started a new thread on this topic to avoid confusion.

If anyone has any more pictures (see gallery) from the Strawberry run please email them to me asap this week. I can add them to our gallery and to send with our report to the Forest Service.

our report to the Forest Service.

We headed up the trail around 10:00am. We found the HWY 50 side gate with the pole pulled out and tossed in the bushes. The trail was fairly clear there were a few limbs and brush hanging a little bit into the trail but nothing real bad. There was a log that was a foot or so on to the trail, so we cut it back about 3 foot. We also trimmed the branches off the log that I had pulled out of the way on the last trail patrol of 2013. Here are the pics (in our Gallery) of cleaning and trimming brush and cutting the limbs on the log.
Sense most of the rigs chose not to try going over V-rock, My self (Suzuki Samurai) and one other jeep went further up the trail to the first meadow and turned around and came back down and we all went out the HWY 50 side. The trail looked good up to that meadow, we did see some small stuff that we can get on a supplemental maintenance run later, in maybe August. Also Brad is talking about on that run to prune back all the heavy brush about 2-3 feet to clear it back so it won't over grow so fast each year.
Between waterfall & V-rock We ran into two quad riders, we told them the trail was closed, they said "they saw the sign but thought it was for a different trail" we informed them of the possible fines for being on a "closed trail" and they said we better get off the trail ASAP. They were nice enough and they took off back up the trail. We caught back up with them at V-rock where they had got stuck/hung up. We help them up and over and they took off and we did not see them again.
