Sunday June 9th will be our first maintenance run of the year on Strawberry Pass Trail and only the second maintenance run since the trail has re-opened. This is the trail the club sponsors. The fall run will be held on a Saturday in an attempt to accommodate peoples schedules. To maintain member status you must make 1 of the 2 maintenance runs. If anyone is unable to make this event and wasn’t on the spring run or fall run last year please talk to me at the meeting or send me a PM. That said, this is about trail clearing and maintenance for the forest service. Our key goal for this run is bucking the trees the equipment knocked down repairing the trail and moving the rocks back into place.
Trip info:
Meeting place – Shell at Pollock Pines exit off Highway 50 at 8:30am. We will meet and after a quick drivers meeting, split into groups, and will head up to the trailhead about 9:00AM.
Things to bring:
-Gloves
-Loppers/hand saw
-Chainsaw (please only USFS certified operators, no exceptions) and safety gear (chaps, eye protection, ear protection)
-Tree Savers (to wrap around rocks)
-Crowbars/breaker bars to move rocks
-Water
-Lunch
-Door magnets
-Good attitude (we aren't the police)
Please post if you will be attending. A rig is not necessary to attend as there are plenty of open seats. Just post up if you will need a ride and I will make sure you have a seat before we leave the parking lot. If this is your first trail run with the club then please review the vehicle requirements. Expect more details at the drivers meeting.

Will my new truck make it on the trail for the maintenance run?
Are you referring to the Ford? Then yes onto the trail but not likely off it. There will be snow on the trail and in the area so the group that heads up the trail will be turing around.
You are still ok to bring the big truck as I will be splitting the group up and can put you on the lower road with room to turn it around for lunch.
