Ok fine, I will be serious this time:
Tentative plan:
Meet early Friday Morning: 8 ish in Pollock Pines. Run Deer Valley, and camp at or near Alpine Lake. Run Slick Rock both ways, and a third trail (TBD) on Saturday. Giving out a card for your poker hand at the beginning and end of each trail. The fifth card will be given out at camp. Each person in the rig will get a card, your name or initials will be put on the card, (so there is on hanky panky mixing and matching). π
Home on Sunday, and if there are people that want to run a trail out they are more then welcome to do so, but personly I won't be.
Hows that for a plan. π

Meeting time/place has been changed. We are now meeting at 8:00 at the Eldo Starbucks. We can then meet everybody else up in Pollock around 8:45. A new guy was asking and we didn't have the meeting place figured out, so we had to make a quick decision. It looks like George is coming and Lee is a possible.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

To avoid any confusion, especially if new people are meeting with you can you clarify which starbucks?
I'm assuming you mean the Starbucks at 4311 Town Center Blvd # 450, just south of highway 50
There is another Starbucks across the street from roundtable where the club holds its monthly meetings, and I"m assuming this is not the meeting place.
Closed Mondays.

what time does the group expect to be at the campground. Seems like an awesome place to camp. they seem to operate on a first come first serve basis. since i've never been there before i looked up the info on the web. i found this link. Is this the place?

You weren't at the meeting and the rest of us couldn't remember what time and place you picked. Don't blame me for stepping up and making a decision because there were new people asking about it that don't use the forum. Besides, it only pushes the meeting time back a little. We'll still have pleanty of time to run Deer Valley before dark.

My sincere apologies John, I in no way was mad or upset. I was in a hurry typing that response trying to catch up on emails at work and respond to forum posts. After rereading how I responded I can see how it may have seemed like I was mad. So let me try again.
There was a time and place set for the run, but do to my absence at the meeting a quick decision was needed, thanks for making that decision John.
I am out for this run do to finances. I have been on a lot of runs this year already with many to go. I have to make a decision on a couple to not attend. I really want to go, but as of right now thatβs not possible.
Again John, sorry it came across wrong, would you please take charge of this run?

Still not sure what the third trail will be, maybe the folks that want to run Deer Valley backwards, home on sunday. I will keep looking for a third trail to run on Saturday, but I would like to get back to the lack and go swimming.

ok. so a few things for you to answer larry.
1. What time does the group expect to be at camp on friday? Assuming no breakage, bear attack, whatever.
2. How many spots will we need? Can we hold spots since its first come first serve? i'm assuming someone can get their early and pay for 2 or more sites even though there is physically no one at the other sites? I dont know. seems like a flaw in the system if some dude came up on a thurs and reserved 5 or more sites for the entire weekend but i dont know. its been a hell of a long time i went camping.
3. Is it cash only or is this a fancy campsite that accepts credit card? (yes, i'm a city boy. )

1. I don't recall the exact time we showed up, but it seems like it was late afternoon. 3 or 4 o'clock. And we are getting a later start then last year.
2. Depending on the size of the sites you can get, I would think two would be plenty. Prepay for two sites, throw a chair in one, (or leave a kid sitting there... JK) when we get there we can all chip in. If there isn't enough room there at the camp ground we can find some place on slick rock to camp. I believe there were a couple of sites just before the trail head we can camp at. Sounds like we have 6 rigs for sure and possibly a couple more. That includes you.
3. Cash only.
