This is a last minute USFS meeting, where they have requested we take them up to our trail and discuss the legal remediation plan.
It is very important we represent our club and trail. The event will involve running the back side of the trail from 88. This is the easy side. Both David and I are currently planning to participate even though neither of our rigs are running. A stock JKU can make this run! It looks like we will run a pre-runner and a Durango and do the best we can...
Is anyone else considering participating? If you have a stock jeep of some kind you will be more capable than my 2wd I'm bringing!

Please !! if anyone has a Jeep or 4X4 and can go it would really help out. My Durango has 4 wheel drive, but almost gets high-centered on a speed bump. Brad & I are going to do the best we can, but really could use some help on this one. This meeting can/will help to speed up the opening of the Strawberry trail. This is the trail that we “sponsor” so to make a good showing is extremely important to show the forest service we do want to participate in the process to reopen it. We are meeting at 8:00am at the Forest Service station off of Hwy. 50 – 4260 Eight Mile Rd. Camino, CA 95709. Please post up if you can make it.
If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

We met the USFS, and Trails Unlimited. TU is an enterprise company within the USFS. They focus on trail management.
We drove/walked the trail from the 88 side and talked with the 5 FED reps. They discussed the mitigation options (TU with the USFS), and asked us what we'd like to see on the trail. Several discussions were about making the trail harder in certain sections and then making some sensitive parts easier. We were ok with this approach. When TU starts their work, we will need to be up there so we can direct some of the boulder locationing in new areas to create new challenges! This likely won't happen until next year but I did ask the USFS to give us some notice so we can better coordinate attendance. They are proposing some major work up there, but the primary compliance focus is a large meadow up top, before the creek crossing and camp site (for those of you familiar with the trail). That is the area that's keeping the trial closed. Re-routing around it is not an option so they are proposing 3-4 options for complaince.
We had a meeting at their office from 8-930 and were out on the trail from 11 to 630. Dave and I were home around 8 or so. Kevin participated as well but had to head out about 2. That was difficult because he was our most capable vehicle!
