We got "voted" into the parade even though they were already booked!
They need 4 vehicles - 3 carrying single rider dignitaries and 1 carrying 4 dignitaries. --- Does anyone have a rig that can haul 4??
We can have a total of 8 rigs, so the remaining 4 would be in a separate group. We need a theme for our group and I put out there how we work with the Forest Service and promote "Leave No Footprint". (This was in a conversation happening minutes before they met to vote if we could join, I was scrambling for ideas.)
Being interactive with the crowd, mainly the kids, is a requirement. So, I let her know we would run our Forest Service magnets, have music playing from one or two rigs, and hand out kid-oriented "flyers" that promote good stewardship of our land with a piece of candy stapled on it. She loved that idea.
Krissy also asked if we could decorate our rigs in something that represents the 4th - red, white, and blue - of course.
Any takers guys?? Please let me know as soon as you can, Krissy is scrambling to get this finalized.
Thanks!

What day is the parade again? I can probably make it but need to confirm.
This coming Saturday.
It looks like very limited responses here. I'm unsure what Lynda is going to do. They have their jeep. I believe last year, Kris hauled a family in his Jeep.
We may need to confirm people at this point since we've committed.

I've sent a message to Krissy and when she gives me details I will post them here.
Thanks, everyone.
P.S. We have the Forest Service Stickers for your rigs and I'm making flyers to hand out to the crowd to "interact with the kids" as we pass. "Leave no Footprint as you enjoy the great outdoors is the theme."

Road Safe Vehicles: Directed left up Reading Street. Turn left on Figueroa or Mormon and disperse from there.
Large Floats: Directed left up Reading Street. Turn left on Figueroa or Mormon and head back to your staging locations to drop off
participants or disassemble your float as needed.
Horses/Animal Groups: Directed right on Reading Street, Turn Right on Leidesdorff Street and carefully proceed back to staging to
load animals.
There is no shuttle service at the end of the parade. It is your responsibility to safely return to your vehicle.
Restrooms: There will be a porta potty located at the corner of Coloma and Sutter St (during the staging time). Other locations are
Powerhouse Pub lot, Hacienda Lot & Wool/Sutter Lot, and parking garage & near the Chamber.
Review Stand: There will be a reviewing stand on the balcony of the Gaslight Company with the honorable John McGinness as our
guest announcer and our 4 judges. Additionally, there are announcers on both the Balcony of 607 Sutter Street and 805 Sutter St, the
balcony above Hop Sing. All announcers will read your entry information from your entry form. Please make sure your entry is identified with a large banner or sign or entry number so the announcer reads the correct description. He will also improvise a bit. If
you will be performing in front of the reviewing stand, we ask that you limit your performance to no more than 30 seconds unless
you have prior approval.
Spacing: It is imperative that you remain 2 car lengths distance from the group in front of you. There will be some stops and starts depending on short performances in front of 607 Sutter, Gaslight and 805 Sutter, Hop Sing. Watch for slowdowns and keep
2 car lengths distance.
Please stay after the parade and enjoy our unique and charming historic district.
We appreciate all you are doing to make the Historic Folsom Hometown Parade FUN and EXCITING for all!
