I would like to propose a Wentworth Springs Snow run on Saturday February 6th. Kevin and I went up last Sunday and had a good trip. It wasn't crowded like MET so I think this would be a great opportunity for us to get out as a club, especially if we head out earlier than most. There will be some new snow this week but so far the weather looks good next Saturday.
The plan: This is an out and back run so if you can't make it all the way, wherever we get to, don't worry we will be back to get you (or me) out on the way out! Meet at Warton's Market in Georgetown at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 9:00 (buy food and gas and support local businesses). I would love to push up as far as we can go. Yesterday (Sunday) I went solo with my nephew about 1.5 miles past Uncle Tom's Cabin. The snow was good but it got narrow so I decided to turned back. Kevin was playing in the snow a few miles back with his daughter so he would come get us if we didn't return.
The road was plowed not far below Stumpy Meadows. We saw a several stock 4X4's all the way to Uncle Tom's Cabin (and we pulled a few out) so I'm not going to post requirements because I think you all know what to expect. Going past Uncle Tom's might be a different story, especially if we get some snow. So is anyone interested?

I should have mentioned that this will be a kid friendly run and we will try to stop for lunch or any planned breaks at locations where it will have enough slope for the kids to slide down the hill in saucers. Even if we can get all the way through the trail it will probably be and out and back run unless the group decides, and conditions allow us to come out at via Ice House Road/Hwy 50. I would ask about trail conditions for a threw run on one of the 4X4 forums but I don't want to draw attention to Wentworth Springs Road because it could increase traffic. If anyone knows if you can make it all the way through that would be great.

As of Friday morning we have as going: Updated Friday afternoon
Kevin, Jamie, Robert, Rufus, Jim and me (Jeff). Kevin may be late and says to start without him if so and he will catch up with group.
Maybe:
Lilly and Albert, Tyler (per text message).
Communications: frequency 151.760
I will have my chainsaw with me. If you have one and are experienced with it, please bring it. We will see how far we can go up Wentworth Springs. I know there were some huge trees that came down a few weeks ago. If we can do anything to safely get past any down trees we will give it a try. I know people have been up there and cut some of the trees but that was before the big snow storm last week, so it is possible that we won't make it far enough encounter any tree issues. The weather forecast is good but always be prepared to spend the night should something happen to your vehicle. I always carry a sleeping bag and extra food and water with me just in case.
Reminder, we will plan on leaving Warton's Market in Georgetown at 9:00 a.m. so if you plan to get gas and food, please try to arrive early enough to leave by 9.
I will check for any updates on this page tonight and first thing in the morning. Looking forward to a fun and safe snow run tomorrow.

Jim ruppel, see you all about 8:30, i think robert glanville will be there also.
just saw this post
CRYSTAL BASIN – Saturday, January 30, 2021
The snow depth in the Icehouse area is 52” plus. The snow depth at Loon Chalet is 72” (6 ft). The snow has not settled yet and is the consistency of sugar. Jeeps were getting stuck in the deep snow. Snow is not good for snowshoeing. Due to the recent wind storm, beware of hidden obstacles under the snow.
Icehouse Road to Loon Chalet: plowed with intermittent snow and ice sections.
Wentworth Springs Road at Icehouse Road: deep snow is difficult for high-clearance 4WD vehicles.
Icehouse Road is bermed up past the Loon Chalet, making it difficult for high-clearance 4WD vehicles to get to the Rubicon Trail.
Cheesecamp Road (13N22): Very high berm at entrance; deep snow covered road.
Granite Springs Rd (11N99): deep snow covered road.
Bassi Falls Rd (12N32): Very high berm at entrance.

I should have checked with the wife first. Apparently I already have plans for Saturday. Maybe next time.
Well, there's that. But how is your fuel injection working? Glad to hear you got your project done!
Fuel injection is doing good, still a little lean on deceleration, but overall its like a new motor.
