Should probably mention what your intended purpose is. Equipment is expensive to fix so 9 times out of 10 it will be worth the $300 a day to rent and not sour a friendship.

Just some digging up of big old tree roots and such, nothing that I think would cause any damage to a small backhoe or mini excavator. If I don't find one I'll just do it the old fashioned way and dig it will just take a long time
300 a day isn't really in our budget since my wife isn't able to go back to work anymore. I just thought I would ask cause you'll never know unless you ask the question
