OfflineI almost forgot with those toyota axles I also have a sky manufacturing samurai steering box to toyota axles and I just scored a 6.5 to 1 tcase for our samurai just have to get it tomorrow.
Most of the parts I have gathered for our project have been bartered for as we don't have the money to buy stuff for this toy, it's just a hobby that we will hopefully be running the trails with soon.

And she is all done thanks to David and his unending suzuki knowledge. Need to add a few tie downs here and there but she runs great and sure has a lot more pick up on acceleration.  Â
Ok well not all done just the propane is done. This is a project and just like all projects it's never finished.
Next up is the 6.5 to 1 tcase, toyota axles, high steering and yj springs or toyota springs not sure which I'm going to use yet

OfflineOk well I have had a lot of free time at night when Shaina is sleeping not much to do in the hospital at night. I have been looking all over for axles for my Jeep after reading John's postings bit it is just so expensive for Jeeps (Just Empty Every Pocket) is true.
I can get everything to build my Toyota axles with lifetime warranty on the chromo axels for like 3k and these Toyota axles are said to be a stout as the 9" axles so I think I'm going to build this thing over the top and just save the Jeep for easy family runs instead of spending 10k on Jeep axles.
I have a huge build list going of the things I'm going to start on as soon as we get home and we will eventually be home.

Its all about the vehicle weight. Â Toyota axles are most definitely nowhere near as strong as a ford 9" BUT a 4cly samurai on yota axles can run the same size tire reliably as a significantly heavier bronco with a v8. Â Apples to oranges comparison is where this type of info comes from. Â The jeep is heavier and can hold more so the axles will need to have more beef.
