Bender's New Truck

So after months of searching I finally found my truck. The basics are:

2005 Nissan Frontier NISMO Crew Cab
4x4
4.0L V6
5 Speed Automatic

The truck has basically every option available including:

Rear Locker
Moon Roof
Some sort of bed divider thing (really not sure what I think about it yet)
Power everything
Hill decent control (I have no idea what this is)

The NISMO trim is Nissan’s version of the TRD. That’s where the locker, skid plates, bigger wheels, etc. come from.

My plans for it? Short term…sell the Corolla and the Ford. 😀 After that, these trucks have a tendency to have a nasty problem with the radiator that takes out the transmission so I plan to swap in an aftermarket radiator. My long term plans are more of an expedition type vehicle. Since this is my daily driver for the foreseeable future I don’t see this truck being the rock crawler the 4Runner was for a long time. I don’t see myself running much around here harder than Slickrock or Dusy. I may be tempted to try and sneak it into Rubicon Springs through Cadillac. It won’t see Fordyce anytime soon. I want to spend some time in Moab, Canyonlands National Park, Baja, the Mojave Desert, and a bunch of other places. With that in mind I’ll add:

Lift - 2-3” - Done! - PRG Advanced Coilover
Tires – 33s - Done! - Goodyear Duratracs
Front and rear bumpers - Rear done! - Shrockworks rear bumper
Winch
Armor (sliders, etc) - Sliders done! - Shrockworks sliders
On board air - Doneish! - Smittybilt portable

I’m really excited to have a rig again! Somebody please take the Manrano off the "Members Rigs" page. lol

In the axles? Not sure. I'll have to look into that.

It's about 2.5" in the front 2" in the rear so the truck well sit level. It's about as far as you can go without really messing with the geometry in the front end. I should be able to fit 33s after the lift which is where I want to be.

Fair enough. 😀 I really want to get back into an old FJ40 as a pure wheeler though. I want a project. I'm thinking covert it to diesel and see what I can do with it while getting 20 mpg. 8) I've got many other things in line for my money and time at this point though.
