Not long ago, I installed the PSC Big Box steering box and the PSC Big Pump. Well, my pump went out rather quickly and I took it back to the shop. Turns out that PSC was running this exact same setup on one of their Jeeps (Big box, Big pump, and 40s). Their setup only lasted them about six months as well. It turns out that their Big Pump doesn't like 40 inch tires unless it's running hydro assist. Well, being the stand-up company that they are, they refused to warranty my pump.
So, I'm replacing my Big Pump and I'll be stepping down to 37 inch tires again. If anybody is interested in buying some almost new 40 inch tires, let me know. Or, if anybody wants to trade me straight across for some almost new good quality 37 inch tires, let me know that too.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

I got 37's on my truck might be willing to trade and my tires only have about 1000 miles in them

Did PSC say if the 37" will fix the problem? If not that's a pretty pricey experiment. It seems to me that some of the really big company's aren't standing behind there stuff these days. I had a similar situation with Currey.
They said it would be fine and dandy with 37s.

How much do you want for the tires? I’m in the market.
I was at least hoping they'd rebuild it for me. But nope. Maybe I'll just spread the bad news around the internet and see how they like bad press.
As for the tires, I bought them new for $400 each. I'll sell them for $1500 OBO for all five, that's $300 each.

Im still trying to understand why 40s kill it fast but 37s are fine and wont also kill it just longer down the road. Also how greg is running 40s and hasn't had the factory pump fail with the same box. Is his steering really that much different than yours on the road?

John has gone over way more speed bumps than Greg!

It’s a noticeable improvement tuning the high pressure pump than the factory pump. Mine will over heat easily. A cooler will help but I was planning to go to a cooler and the high pressure pump.
In Moab they recommend I go with the pump to improve my steering. So I was planning on it but John has me second guessing for sure.
Um...what?

All I can tell you is what they told me, it'll be fine with 37s.
40s really are a GIANT step up from 37s and wear out equipment MUCH faster.
I've wheeled the stock setup and it was horrible, the new setup is so much nicer and enjoyable.
My options are: Stock Pump (hard to turn the wheel), Current ( Nice but have to drop to 37s), or Hydro Assist (just don't want it).

I would also add that another wheeling buddy of mine had the same thing happen to his JKU that runs 38s. His was replaced under warranty and he's had no further issues. He claims that PSC had a bad batch and mine was probably one of them since we bought them at roughly the same time.

What kind of tires and what rim size?
They are Cooper STT on 20" wheels. I should have asked what your tires are too?
Oh ya, that's a good tire. Unfortunately I run a 17" wheel.

Any reason why you don’t want to go hydro assist?
kevin sure does wheel the crap out of his but I believe his steering box is AGR and PS pump as well.
I don't want the on-road manners of hydro assist.
I have hydro assist. It works fine on road. It’s just sensitive. You never have to worry about bump steer either.
