I remember one trip to Fordyce. I was trying to climb back up Sunrise Hill and I wasn't having much luck on this one rock. I tried and tried but just couldn't get enought traction to get over it, even with both lockers engaged. I was about ready to take a strap when I noticed my air compressor wasn't turned on
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Must have been too easy. You're right. It holds the steering arm onto the knuckle which essentially holds the wheel on the housing.
Based on the rust, it's been broken for a while. I tore the axle down before Dusy last year. I haven't messed with it since then.

Not necessarily too easy, I just got a lot of time to look at those parts on your Cruiser.
