Dear Interested Party:
The Eldorado National Forest has submitted s a preliminary application to
the Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division for the 2009
Grant cycle. Our preliminary application includes a strong emphasis on
trail maintenance and repair, along with restoration of trails and impacted
areas, law enforcement across the four Ranger Districts, printing and
distribution of the Motor Vehicle Use Maps, development of a trailhead near
Highway 88, and construction and reconstruction of trails in the Rock Creek
Recreational Trails Area. We are requesting comments on our proposed
application.There is a different process for submitting comments on the preliminary
applications this year. Starting on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, the public may
view and comment on our application and all the other grant applications on
the State's internet website: http://www.ohv.parks.ca.gov/. Comments need
to be submitted by April 6, 2009. Please send your written comments,
suggestions, or letters of support for the Program to Lester Lubetkin,
Recreation Officer, Eldorado National Forest, 100 Forni Road, Placerville,
CA 95667. Provisions are made on the OHMVR Division’s website (listed
above) to comment electronically to the OHMVR Division. Final grant
applications will be due May 4, 2009.The Eldorado Forest will also host an Open House on April 2, 2009 from 6:00
to 8:00 PM to discuss the grant applications and to hear your thoughts.
This Open House will be held in the Forest Supervisor’s Office large
