We did make it through with no problems. We were moving pretty good. Driving time from the staging area at Eagle lakes to Meadow Lake was 4 hours. That was with a lunch break and a couple pit stops. Gee, I wonder why I broke something
After winch hill 3, I kept hearing a clunking noise and was noticing that my driver rear was bottoming out really easy. I didn't check on it until we aired up.I have a single bracket that holds my lower control arm and my upper triangulated arm. The bracket was almost completely torn from the belly pan. There was a 1 inch weld holding the arms on. And my axle shifted about 5 inches to the passenger side 😯 I drove it at about 25mph all the way to Truckee where a friend of mine met me with his flatbed trailer and we towed it home..

good job Rob.
It took him about an hour to fix it using a hydraulic power spreader bar to push the brackets back in place, and then weld them back up. Then he cut several pieces of 1/4 inch steel into triangles and braced the inside of the control arm bracket to the belly pan. There is no way the bracket can fold in like that again.

Nope.
🙁 Okay Joe...errr...I mean...Justin
I should be ready with Justin's Jeep V3 by the Hammers run. 😀 In the mean time, I'll use the CJ or bum rides where I can.
Now let's get this thread back on topic.
We are starting to wonder if that last Rubicon run scared you off of wheeling

Thanks for making it out Rob. The trip was a great success!! The FS seemed to be happy with the walk though and did not have any major issues with reroute. We also got the green light on the committee reroute and managed to get it cut in on Saturday. It will need more work in a few areas but it is drivable as is. Pics to follow.

Sounds good!!!! I had a great time and it was good to finally meet all of you. Now we just have to go wheeling down at the Hammers. I will contribute to the camp furniture 😀 El Rolo said you guys were going to take a full sectional couch down this year
I had to tear the entire suspension out of my Jeep when I got home...Taking some parts to the welder again and see if we can bomb proof those rear arms....
Could you send me those links on the welding stuff we talked about, and can you check with El Rolo and see if he can send me the link where he got his micro lock..

Not cheap, but it was my only legit option for a "parking brake". Mine is setup to lock the rears and it holds the rig on any incline with no issues.

BTW its too bad we didnt get any pics of Rob's rollover while walking the new route

I think the Botanist might need to reconsider the re-route. There are sticks back there that are alive. Mainly the one that jumped out and tripped me
