So I got my new to me 96 powerstroke and wanted a break controller and new 7 way plug installed on it. OTRT gave the best quote so I set up an appointment to take my truck there. At the time everything on my truck worked but not for long.
After a couple hours they call me and say none of my rear lights are working and all they did is install a new 7 way plug. I told them everything worked when I dropped it off so just put it all back the way it was before they touched it. A couple more hours later they called and said everything is back the way it was and still no rear lights were working. I had to tow it home then tow it to a shop in Rancho Cordova my cost then pay for the other shop to fix the problem and while they were at it I asked them to install the trailer break controller and new 7 way plug.
I called OTRT to see if they would cover 1 hour of the labor from the shop who fixed it since they caused the problem and they said no it wasn't there fault and they didn't charge me for the whole days work they did working on my truck anyways.
I thought maybe next time they would make up for it and I wanted to get my bed a LineXed so I went there to get it done and have my 5th wheel hitch installed and when I did I asked if they would be able to cut me a break on the labor cause of the last problem we had and the said they'd see. After a day they said it was all done I went to pick it up and everything at first glance looked good, when they gave me a total I asked about any deal they could give me for the last problem and they said again NO it wasn't they're fault.
After I got home I started looking over my bed liner and noticed it did t have the warranty badge on it so I contacted LineX directly. They said the warranty badge wasn't necessary but they asked for all my info and the vin of the truck to check for the warranty and guess what no record found. So called OTRT to have them fix it which I had to drive down there again and have them do the warranty that they didn't do in the first place and I also noticed a lock washer on my 5th wheel hitch was spread and not on correctly so I had them fix that too.
All and all in my opinion they last stuff should have been done before they gave me my truck back and second they should have made it right on the money I spent to fix what they broke and they out rite said no. I'm not one for trying to get work done for free but I am looking for shops or people to make rite what they wronged.
I hope this shop review will be a good warning for anyone looking for a shop to take their trucks too

OTRT is out of business. Current shop is the wrong place for anything besides getting side steps and rims for your bro-dozer. Can you give some more detail about the electrical issues the other shop fixed? 96 is new enough that there is a plug under the dash and 2 under the corner of the bed to hookup 7pin and trailer controller plug-and-play.

Yes my 96 had the wires under the dash for the break controller but the didnt even get that far. It had an old broken 7 way plug in it so thats where they started, replaced it and then no rear lights. The shop I took it to said they had cut the wires still with power to them and it blew relays or fuses (can't remember which) the showed me wires they cut out and replaced that had obvious burn marks on them. The shop that fixed the issues charged me 1 hour of labor to fix that and 1 more hour to wire up the new 7 way plug and break controller. Just wish I took it there in the first place
