I might let jill drive and im attaching my snow board to my rig.

I'm going to try and make this. I'll follow right behind Darrell to provide encouragement not to fall or let go

Im good at snowboarding, its jills driving that makes me nervous!sweating

How difficult is this trail? My truck is itching to go wheeling, but it is still waiting for me to complete the right slider and get it lifted. How well do tire chains work in the snow off road?

It's a rough, rocky, narrow road to the lake when there is no snow. The bigger question is going to be, how much snow will there be?

Not sure on the tire chains.

Week and a half away! Good size group. Please post up if you are not listed and plan to go, or if you are listed and NOT going to make it.

See the first post or calendar for details.

Here's the Soda Springs (~6700ft) webcam which is the closest I could find. Bowman Lake is ~5600ft.

I'm bringing a friend in another TJ, he does not have the extras that most of us have, but he has 33's and some pull points.

I am not yet confirmed for this run. I'll get an appointment for my jeep and get it in next week. If all goes well I'll be ready.

I think my ABS computer failed. Plus I need a fuel filler neck warranty completed.

I'm in for this run. My tires are highway tread worn to the tread wear markers (not bald). Any recommendations wether I should take my truck on this run or should I be asking for a ride?

Hi Rich! I don't know how much snow is up there or will be when we go and I don't know the trail at all, but even as relatively equipped as mine is with near-new KM2s, I'm worried about getting through. Street tires down to the wear bars sounds like trouble. Anyone with more experience wanna weigh in?

Maybe catch a ride for this one if that's the case. Don't want to spin your tires all day. At this point, I have an open seat.

If it's anything like Sly Park there is a lot fresh snow and ice it was deep in spots. I went up there yesterday it was fun.

I was just there.

5600' elevation is 12-18" of snow

Hwy 20 cutoff at 80 has about 18-24" of snow.

It is also expected to be snowing again tomorrow.

You're going to trailer your Jeep, or your Jeep will be towing a trailer?

If the latter, it will make recovery difficult if you, or the person in front/behind you gets stuck in the snow. It may also act more like a boat anchor if the snow is deep. This is not a snow patrol and I'm not sure what the snow depth will be come Saturday.

If it is a quality brand CB and antenna then it will likely be already tuned properly. The issues I had were not grounding a ground-plane antenna, using a super cheap cable, not wiring directly to the battery, and not running a spring with an antenna that is designed for it.
