It would be nice to make a list of annual club runs or events with fixed dates or the days of the week and get them on the calendar. That way people can plan a year in advance and can make arrangements for time off, if needed. Here is the start of a list of potential annual runs/events:

1. Hell Hole (day run) in May (1st Friday in June, right Josh?)

2. Sierra Trek (1 to 5 or 6 days, second week in August)

3. Barrett Lake (this September run was ideal)

4. Slick Rock/Deer Valley (2nd week or weekend in October)

5. Club campout

6. Toy run

7. Apple Hill runs

8. Rubicon overnight run

I realize that some of these runs/events may be influenced by weather and other conditions such as wildfires, etc. but many clubs do the same runs during the same period or dates year after year. Please add other runs/events that could possibly be schedule well in advance and let's get them on the 2024 calendar.

We second this motion Jeff, great idea. It wouldn’t be bad to have a permanent post

Yes. That is correct Jeff.

I would add one more:

9, Annual Signal Peak run and potluck on top of the mountain. Good views to take in there!

This is a fantastic idea Jeff! Considering my better half is a serious planner and usually sets things up 8 months to a year ahead of time, doesn’t leave much room for last minute changes.

Jeff, I think this is a great idea.  I was actually just thinking the other day about putting out some dates for the middle of July for another 3 day run to the rubicon.  I thought the Mon, Tues, Wed worked really well.

That run was perfect for the Rubicon due to the increased weekend traffic. I posted the 2024 Slick Rock/Deer Valley run on the calendar and made it for October 12-13 on a weekend so that more people can attend. Previously we have done it on a Friday/Saturday but by mid October their isn't much traffic so a weekend should be fine. I will add Sierra Trek to the calendar as soon as I get confirmation of the date.

You guys are doing awesome.

I will talk about this at the next meeting.  We can put these on our calendar as recurring yearly.

These events already do happen regularly but getting them posted makes sense plans can be made in advance.

I would consider bringing back the "Triple Trail Trek".

Long Canyon, Strawberry and Deer Valley with camping between Strawberry and Deer Valley.

This was a designed night run, and started by meeting at Silver Fork Store at 6PM on a Friday.

Also, possibly an every other year Dusy-Ershim run as well.

I saw they announced that the 2024 date for Sierra Trek is August 8th through the 11th so I put the 7th through the 11th on the club calendar.

We could also increase that date range for people who may want to camp early and get a spot.  Some people may want to camp early before the event and just camp leaving before the event.

John, I added an extra day since most people who attend Sierra Trek come up at least the day before it starts. Maybe we can create two date ranges for those of us who want to come a few more days before the event. We could also do some other runs or activities in conjunction with Sierra Trek.

There was a discussion about making the mid-week be the end of a week rather than the beginning.. which I thought was a good idea. Any chance we could switch this run to be Wed. Jun 23 to Fri. Jun 28?

I'm assuming you meant Wed June 26 to Fri June 28.  I won't be making that week, but if that's best for the group then I would say make it happen.  That thursday is my daughters 18th birthday, however I could make a different week work for Wed-Fri.  My thoughts for Mon-Wed were to avoid leading into the weekend with the different organised group events starting to hit the trail on thursdays, but June shouldn't be a problem based on past years.  I'll be at the Christmas party, let's talk more and get it figured out.

We need a night run. We’ve got all those nice light bars and lights and never get to use them properly.

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Figuring it out at the Christmas party sound good. See you there.

We need to pick a new moon night for star gazing. I’ll check my Astro  calendar and pick a good day. I’m assuming it should be a weekend day?  I’d prefer a weekday, but others aren’t retired like me.

Can't wait to do some wheeling with you all.

Hi guys,

We will discuss these events again in our March meeting.  There is one club camp item on here, but it was discussed in a meeting that we have 2, one spring.  So I've got May 17-19 reserved at Lake Minden!  I'll post up event details on another thread.

Thanks..

See ya'll soon.
