It looks like I should have a new buggy by Monday. I will just have to figure out how to transport between trails! The buggy I'm buying has a 575hp stroked LS1 Corvette motor 😈

All we need is two rigs so it sounds like Jason and I are the minimum.
Rob is getting back to maybe status.
Scott is dependant on the new job.
john is dependant on his jury duty.I don't think anyone else is scheduled, correct?
I'm out...can't chance the back...my surgeon would kill me :p

I got to Lake Havasu, Arizona tonight to pick up my buggy in the morning. Man hotels are expensive there!!! I drove back to Needles and got a room there. Talk about hot, it is midnight here and it is 98 degrees outside 😯 the lady at the desk said it gets up around 120 in the summer! Holy crap!!! It took me 10 hours to drive down here today.
Doubt I will sleep much tonight, I'm just a little excited about picking up my new rig tomorrow.

I've seen a whole lot of nothing here and the run is next Wednesday!
I believe the best Rob could do is the fordyce portion.
John is out because his jeep is broken. Even if it's fixed, he still may have Jury Duty.
Several other people are maybes so be sure to quickly post back here with your status updates - Jason, Scott, others?
At this point it looks like it could be on a solo run so please let me know either way.

Later in the year might work. I need to get a new oil pan and accumulator before I do to many more steep climbs. My motor is way to expensive to blow it up with low oil pressure.

As of right now I am out... I need to get my rear axle fixed. So here is what I know and what I think..
Last Friday i went and got an oil change and while the guys were looking at my vehicle one noticed the upper control arm on the rear passenger was completely ripped off. Not broken at the welds the metal had twisted off.. I ran over to Scott's and he welded it up and even put an extra piece of metal in there for extra support. We noticed the other side was a little twisted and startng to crack. So he tried to gusset that side as well. We discussed ordering some thicker brackets that are stronger the ones that came with the rockjock seem kinda thin. The control arm brackets that weld to my frame from Offroad Evolution are twice as thick. So when I got home last Sunday I noticed the passenger side had ripped off despite the extra welds. So we are ordering some new brackets and I'm not sure if they will be here in time for the run or not. I also noticed some oil leaking from the passenger side. I think the seal may be damaged and need to be replaced. SO to make the long story short unless my rear axle is all better I am not going..
I found some thicker brackets that even come with gussets on the sides to help keep them from twisting. I think that 400hp/400ft/lb torque Hemi is causing my rear axle all sorts of trouble.. 😈

I still suggest a RJ 70 for your rear and moving the 60 over to your son. I'm sure he'd be fine with some rear coilovers on his 2-door!

Only a 6.4L Hemi could get close to those numbers without a lot of work. What's your rear axle? Is it a custom set up?
Im really interested to see what Todd at Jeep Speed Shop is doing with the LS1 swap for jeeps and getting it to pass SMOG. from what I hear its close to being a reality...

Jeep speed has to de-tune their hemi's to get them to pass smog currently. This costs them about 40hp.
AEV can pass smog without the de-tune so I don't know what the Petaluma shop is having difficulty with.
If he can't get his hemi's to pass without de-tuning I wonder when the LS1 motor will be up for review (and if it requires de-tuning as well)...

First off the brackets on the 70 Rock Jock will probably be the same as the 60. He's not braking ring and pinions. While a Hemi is a strong engine 400hp is not beyond the realm of a 60 Rock Jock although High Pinion in the rear still runs the coast side of the gear. Get some better brackets, have them welded on competently and enjoy. Mark

Rear axle is a Semi float, 35 spline cryo treated superior axles and cryo treated gears. Spydertrax housing! They tried TrueHi 9's in the rear, but 575hp kept destroying the hi pinion gears. The low pinion has held up with no problem what so ever.
