We will change the name of this run to back country exploration 2.0. This will be a continuation of the run we did a few weeks back where we simply drove some of the older trails up there. Now we have permission to clear up those trails so others have access to them!!!
We still plan to run part of the long canyon trail, that isn't closed becuase of the "meadows" lawsuit. You will get to see balancing rock, for example.
Again, this will be a Maintenance Run. That means you'd bring loppers, saws, trash bags, gloves and a good attitude. If you are modifying your vehicle, you can test things out on this run since the pace will be slower as we work the trail. I have heard there hasn't been much cutting or clean up done for 4-5 years so we could have our work cut out for us.
If the group is large, it means more fun! It is not difficult, but there are some challenging spots in the uphill direction - Nothing approaching V-rock in difficulty however.
I do not currently plan to post this run on the calendar, so reviewing and commenting on this thread is the only way I will know if you are coming. I will post meet up location and timing once I confirm Long Canyon is where we are going.
I don't foresee any vehicle restrictions for this run, other than you must have valid (and safe) front and rear recovery points. Lockers are not required.

Checking With Kyle, Hopefully will have answer by tonight's meeting. See ya all there. I'll be able to drive my FULL size 4x4....
If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

FYI, there's no meeting tonight unless it's a secret meeting that I don't know about. The meeting this month is on the 14th.
Um...what?

Ok. Long Canyon is now sponsored by Norcal FJs. They are maintaining the trail (though I didn't see much maintenance).
The trail is still partially closed but will reopen this summer! Good news is that we can run the open portion if we'd like while we are up there (but not maintain it).
So I spoke with Kyle and got approval to run/maintain the following trails:
16E33
11N36
10NY06
10NY06B
10N26
10N04
10N22
If you get a map out you can check in to them, but I have a map I'll be bringing. Items of value to bring on this work run include:
loppers
gloves
trash bags
chainsaws
sheers
cordless trimmers (for bushes and not facail hair)
tow straps and D-rings (if we want to pull logs)
other basic working tools.
Top two posts in this thread have additional details - so look up!!!

Lori let me know that…… I've been in a time warp that is one week ahead.
