I have to check the schedule. Really, I (and the coaches) thought he would be cut from the team, they oly take four players over the weight limit. But when he found out he might get cut he tried even harder and ended up winning a spot. Really proud of him since he did it all on his own, no pushing from Dad 8)
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Last week FOTR sent us on the high bypass next to little sluice. There were no rocks stacked at the drop-off in the trees, so you might want to check that if you are routed that way. Rear wheels up in the air, no oil pressure etc. In fact there were only big holes where you would normally find at least some sign of rocks being stacked on the route we took. Not what you would expect to find after the jambo's. We drove the higher line and then the middle or old sluice to buck. Watch out for the exposed rebar on the concrete sections on cadillac. There were no rocks at all on the bottom sections that normally cover those 3' tire eaters. Hopefully enough people will have traveled it in the last week and it will be in better shape for the group. Don't know if we will be able to make it or not yet. We left some firewood and a good cooking/fire pit at the first campsite to the left at the bottom of the hill after you leave the springs.

I have not done this trail before. I was hoping that a club veteran would be guiding the trail for us new jeepers. I would like to do my club initiation. I can bring steaks in for the Possie on Saturday night. I need a rough count of who is going by Thursday please so I can purchase the right amount.

Bears can climb trees - do they just never look up for food?
Oh they do look up. All that stuff hanging up in the tree should be much further out along the branch and not as close to the trunk. All the bear had to do was climb up the trunk and take a couple swings at those containers and it would be all over. I have experienced it fist hand. 😛

Personally, I'll hang my food at least 75 yards away from my camp. I don't need bears anywhere close to my camp. My sleeping bag is warm enough all by itself without the company of a big, furry bear.
Now back to your regularly, scheduled topic for this thread.
