Home safe and unpacked (kind of … stuff is just thrown into garage - it’s so dammed hot compared to how nice it was in Tahoe).Â

Finally getting around to looking at my brakes after the rubicon trip as it's been sitting on the side of the house for the past month. Good news is I dont think I need a new master cylinder. However I might need some new brake pads and drum. When I pulled off the drum, the adjuster screw fell out, along with some other unidentifiable pieces which later turned out to be chunks of brake pad. The trailing brake shoe has no pad on it at all and the shoe is no longer a smooth round circle. The pins that hold the pad in place were digging into the drum. The front shoe and pad still look great somehow.

I’m glad you looked into it, no linings on the shoes is definitely bad. Hopefully this cures your brake problem.

Still not really sure what made the pad fall apart like that. Maybe I got a small rock up inside the drum that dug into it and broke the pad apart. The broken pieces of pad were still thick enough to not feel the need to replace them. Maybe they just aged out and lost their integrity?Â
