I should be there and gassed up by 9am.  That will get us to Meadow Lake before noon.

That depends on if you follow your GPS again or not. laughing

Well, I'm working on my trailer project today so I had to unpack my Jeep to get to some tools on the bottom of the pile. So much for being almost ready.crying2

I’m going to head up Wed. I sent a text to Jamie and John to see if we can coordinate. Worst case scenario I’ll see you guys in camp Wed.

I vote Airheads as gift so far.

Airheads it is. I bought four boxes (60 in each) so we have 240 Airheads to give out on WH4 and to the attendees at the Outer Limits Run. I'm not sure that I've ever tied an Airhead (other than dating a few when I was young).

With the gals I dated, I was the airhead haha.

Yeah my GPS will get you there hopefully before dark.  It was a fun route aside being in the middle of nowhere by yourself.  Then the trail ends 4 miles before the lake and you wing it from there.

We are registered for Sierra Trek and will be heading up on Thurs and helping out with the Winch Hill and Outer Limits (where ever we are needed).  I saw someone say they are securing camp space, will there be room for us there? Or do we need to get a space when we come up.  Being as this is our first year we arent sure exactly how everything is going to go.  Any and all information/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to seeing everyone and getting to know you better!

Thanks Jayson and Stacey. I printed out some Posse waiver of liability forms for you to fill out when you get there. I really appreciate your help, we could really use you! Six rigs will enable us to have thee club rigs in each of the two groups on the Outer Limits run. Ideally we should have six people working WH4 so your help would be great. Did you sign up using with committee member discount link and are you doing the Thursday committee River Poker Run with us?

I saw on the noon news today that there is a chance of Sierra thunderstorms later in the week. Don't forget to pack your raingear and if your are like me and your Jeep is topless or semi-topples, you might want to bring a tarp in case we get heavy rain.

Jeff,

We will get with you when we get to the lake so we can fill out the forms.  We did sign up for the committee poker run but I'm not positive what time we will be up there Thurs morning.  We will see what we can do.

If there is anything else that is needed let us know.

Sierra Trek was……a great adventure! Despite the trouble we had getting there, missed all of Thursday and rolled in around 8pm, and not having gone camping in so long most of our gear failed from old age Im sure. Everyone worked their butts off on Friday at winch hill 4, I can’t remember the last time I was that dirty, tired, hot and just wore out. But we had a great time, met wonderful people and made fantastic friends, especially our club members! Stace and I had a wonderful time and in great part because of Brian, Jeff, John, Jamie, Kris, Sean and Keith or Kevin, the name eludes me. Can’t wait to see everyone again.

Back home around 3pm. Crashed for a while then unloaded the jeep. It was a great week and so glad that Jeff and Brian help set this up.  Fun times as always and special appreciation for Kris, Jeff, Brian, Brian's foot, Jase, Stace, Sean for working the top of winch hill 4 and Jamie for making it fun and teaching me some tricks at the bottom of the hill.  Jamie and I learned a lot from the uphill guys. 95 percent winch rate on Thursday and only about 35 percent winch rate on Friday. So I would say that our crew was a success. Outer Limits run was fun also. Many compliments from the participants. As for the down time another memorable Saturday night. What a great group of people and especially fun when they let their hair down. You'll hear about most of the trip at the next meeting from them.  Pictures to come. I just can't say enough how fantastic the group was. Looking forward to next year with hopefully more people.

Another action packed Sierra Trek is now in the books. I went up on Tuesday and there was only one campsite available in Meadow Lake Campground. It would only accommodate two vehicles and two tents and was very sloped which is why it was still available. I was able to get two really good, unimproved campsites right next to the campground that would accommodate all of us. It was at the tip of the cove on the lake and was beautiful.

We did the committee River Run (for Trek volunteers only) on Thursday, staffed WH4 on Friday and lead the Outer Limits Run on Saturday. Our team worked their tails off at WH4 and got people up the hill and back to Meadow Lake about as safely and efficiently as possible. I can't thank John, Kris, Brian, Brian's friend Sean, Jamie, Jace (aka Dozer) and Stace enough for all their work, and it was a lot of work, on WH4. I told Jace we need to nickname him dozer because of all the rock he moved. The Outer Limits run went very well and we had a really nice group of attendees which made it all the more fun. I have a driveline issue or something that is causing noise and vibration. I also had a lot of movement of my shifters so possible a transmission or motor mount problem which may or may not be related so I need to get my Jeep in the shop for service, but at least we got home without having to work on it.

I got home around 2:30, emptied the essentials out of my Jeep and jumped in the pool before hitting the shower. I'm still a little tired but so nice to sleep in one's own bed after five nights in a tent. I can't wait to review the run at the next meeting, at least what we can share!

ps Thank you Gil for running a bunch of firewood up to us. We had a nice campfire on Wednesday but towards the end were told to put it out by Trek staff since we were technically outside of the campground.

Thanks Jeff! Ill take the nickname Dozer anytime.  I couldnt have moved most of those rocks without your (and everyone's) help.  I should have thought about the pool clean off...or even just stood in the sprinkler out back, I think i had to scrub down a couple of times just to find skin.  Stace cheated and jumped out of the Jeep as soon as we got home and went in to "get the dog settled down".  She managed to come back out just as i was closing the garage door after unpacking the Jeep and was remarkably clean and refreshed looking. confused

Thanks again for going up early and getting us a great camp site, it was perfect even though we couldnt have a fire it was an ideal location.

Looks like its time to start working on the TJ and Stace is making a list of things i will need to do to her JK.  Looking forward to more runs and to Sierra Trek next year.

We had just enough drops fall on Sat for us to put up the rain fly on the tent.  Then it stopped for a bit, then came on a little stronger and we moved the chairs and such under the pop up and it slacked off again after about 10 min.  Pretty much was just enough for a little dust control, nothing more.

Hope you can join us next year, we really did have a great time.

I like the nickname Dozer also.  Jamie and I were telling the drivers that Hoss (because of the cowboy hat) would guide them after us. Yeah he did move lots of rock and mostly the same rocks over and over as the buggies kicked them out.

Hope to see you and Gil there next year, we missed you guys. At least it wasn't me this year and a lot quieter coming to camp Saturday. And if you thought I drove fast on the Outer Limits Run.  I couldn't keep up with Kris's group sailing through the easy parts at the end of the day. We all had fun though.

Not sure I can add anything to what was already said, other than a Gin & Tonic is the perfect drink to cool off with after coming back from the trail, thanks Jeff grin

Great group of people, hard work, hard trail, and tons of fun!

Did not have much time to take pictures, but this one should sum up Friday night, top of winch hill 4 with the last rigs coming through at about 9:30. Trek comittee brought us salad, chicken, and ribs to the hill for dinner, it was yummy!
