The area in red is the best camping.

The blue X is about as far as you'll get the motorhome.

Does anyone have GPS coordinates for the campground, or trail end?

Lee is also planning to go on Thursday.

We need to drop our daughter off in Lincoln on the way, so we may not be as early as everyone else...

I don't.

I've got a topo showing the area in pretty good detail I'll loan you.

Based on Google, it looks like the intersection of the roads there is at: 39.409738,-120.503154

I will be there, Lynette will be staying at home. If i can get a second RV site I'll bring our trailer and have a double bed open. I never been up there before so, I would like to follow someone up. thanks Jim

Just to make sure...some of you are bringing your Jeeps right? How sad would it be if a lonely old Toyota had to winch everybody? 😀

You don't have to buy a winch, but, you'd better be up there. Even if it's just for a day! Bring Heidi and the kids, it'll be a fun day!

Might be able to cruise up Friday evening to help out with this on Saturday. Is anybody planning to run the trail after the Sierra Trek is finished, either on Saturday or Sunday?

Sounds like we should expect the most traffic on Saturday. By then hopefully we'll have a system down so it should be a bit more smooth. 8) Bring the Cruiser and see what it can do!

At the meeting, they made it very clear, if you haven't registered for the Trek, you won't be allowed into camp. Based on the location this year they think they can control access. One of the Committee leads that was planning to do something in camp was planning to camp elsewhere. They were going to ask them to step down.

IF YOU WANT TO GO INTO CAMP AND CHECK OUT THE VENDORS, YOU MUST REGISTER.

the cal4wheel signup page doesn't state this very explicitly.

Hmmm. My first sierra trek was when I was camping and saw all the cool rigs and popped in to check it out. I guess being so close to 80 they'll need to control the access more.

They said they're trying to avoid some problems they've had in the past with people showing up and crashing the bar. We'll see how it goes. They may just be drawing a line in the sand and then look the other way if/when the volunteers show up.

I know. 😥 Either way, they wanted to keep the crashers out.

It looks like I'll be headed up thursday late morning with the jeep and tent camping it. Does anyone have a link to a map on how to get up there via the fire roads, it would be a great help. Thanks Jim
