Don't Forget, meetings have moved to our new location @ Mark and Monica's Family Pizza, 4751 Manzanita Ave., Carmichael, CA 95608!

It was raining in auburn last night and we saw some lightning bolts, but they didnt look like they were up that way.
I have a question about what time i should be there for running the trail. Should we be up there thursday night, or would it be ok to go up friday morning? I know that we have to sign in and everything but i was just wondering.

For the actual Trek, they're starting REALLY early. I don't remember the exact time, but it should be in your registration packet.

You could head up that morning, but I would get to camp (cisco grove) early.
I think staging is "in camp" at cisco grove and then the group will split in two. one group will head down the highway to eagle lakes road, and run the lower part of the trail and the other half will head up the dirt road towards fordyce lake and come in at comittee crossing.
I don't know how staging will work this year since its a new location and only 1/2 of the trail is being run and they are splitting the group in half, but there are the logistics of getting 120 or so rigs accounted for and safety checked.
A couple of years ago they started doing the safety checks the night before for those that wanted to and this sped things up.
You will need your vehicle inspected and forms filled out. This takes the most time. The inspection is basically to check the checklist which is in your registration packet. Seat belts for every participants, roll cage or hardtop, spare tire close in size to the tires you run, battery securely mounted (you'd be suprised how many are just sitting loose) working parking brake, tow points front and rear, no 9 foot long CB antennas, fire extinguisher, first aid kit.
I heard packets are being passed out in camp and not mailed out so I'm not sure what info has been provided.
Closed Mondays.

OfflineI'm not going to the main camp at all.
I may head up to meadow saturday afternoon. I was thinking about heading up via comittee crossing well behind the main pack but as of right now I don't have a wheeling buddy and I don't want to go in solo.
I might just head over to the rubicon 😈
Closed Mondays.

That's what Larry said he'd listen to and that's fine with me for club stuff. I'll have to confirm which channel the Trek folks will be on because at least one of us will need to listen there when we're on the hill. I did get my new antenna though so I should be able to do something. I've even got an antique SWR meter that I'm hoping to try out tonight. 8)

No CB for the black jeep yet. Maybe this weekend...
