I'll be there with what tools I have for trimming and cutting.
Unless snow dramatically melts before Saturday, there almost zero trimming and cutting. All trash was picked up except for a vehicle bumper that was down a ravine.
Water work is the larger question. If the trail is being modified this coming summer using real equipment, then what could us with shovels and prybars manage of value between now and then?

I'm a "maybe" at this point, I'll firm up as it gets closer.Sounds like t's going to be more of a scouting and snow run rather than a maintenance run.
Snow run is the answer, John. Water bars is the solution to the water, which is overwhelmingly the issue, & beyond what we can contribute with shovels pry bars.

Being out there is definitely worth the trip. It's breathtaking.
The trail is hard to recognize because of a lot of water damage. But, even though it probably won't get fixed to our liking now until next year, that's many months away, (and that's only if they keep this latest promise.) I think our efforts to control the water, shore up the road and do what we can to at least help keep the trail navigable (as well as maybe prevent further forest damage) is worth it. It may not seem like much at this point, but you never know what impact your effort has.
And this gives me another opportunity to relocate pinecones into the scorched areas.
See ya'll out there.

LOL!
Well we are all off trail and I’m home and unpacked. As previously mentioned there was a lot of run off. We fixed one with a make shift mini water bar and tried to find the culvert for the second but struck out. Scott also rescued a stranded pickup that ran into a deep cut across the road just past the north kiosk. All in all a good day with good people.
