I ended up doing the side mount of the control box because center mount hit the grill with my bumper. I actually like the side mount better now that I see it.

i like it kevin! I'll be in the market for a winch soon. is that the standard color rope on that winch? and if you know, can you pick a color or are you stuck with what it comes with and have to order another one if you want a different color?

Only choices are standard cable or the dark gray synthetic rope with their "Comp" series. I'll be entering lots of competitions now!

Yeah, the ones on 4wd.com were in the $40 plus range and will still likely wear and fade.
I consider it a disposable item. It will wear and fade in a few years, then I'll get another one for $10. That's the plan, anyways.

I agree. Mine was 22 bucks on eBay. Cheap protection for your rope.
