Yes, you are spot on! This is the Shirttail Canyon Iowa Hill loop out of Colfax. It is an easy 24 mile loop that is about half paved road and half dirt road. With all the water running it is a beautiful drive! If you decide to do it please be careful as it is a two way road and can be a bit narrow and there are many blind corners and curves along the way. The suspension bridge over the north fork of the American River is really cool.
