Well I for one am ready to roll out next Friday. I agree with Jeff, if a wheeling expedition just ends up being a day at the lake with a group of great people then that's a great day. I'll bring my fishing pole just in case.

Jeff and Roy. You are correct. We’re a go!

I would bring your fishing pole! Also a camera it’s beautiful out there this time of year. Plus bring cold weather gear. There is more snow out there than the pictures show.

The plan:

Hell Hole Jeep Trail Run 2023

Friday June 2nd

Start: Meet at Georgetown 7:30 a.m.

Depart for trail at 8:00 a.m.

Come early if you need to fill up on gas or stock up on food. Worton’s Market opens at 6 a.m. and makes excellent breakfast sandwiches. Try one and support Georgetown.

Goal be on the trail at 10:00 a.m. Be off the trail by 3:00 p.m.

Where = Hell Hole Reservoir

This run is not recommended for stock rigs.  Basic club vehicle requirements apply. In addition suspension lift is recommended. Minimum 33 inch tires and a winch are required. Will limit the group to 10 rigs.

This trail has a couple challenging sections. A winch can come in handy. Not having a winch can cause others to have to pull vehicles out or over obstacles which can double the time it takes to run this trail. Please be respectful of others and sit this run out if you don’t have a winch.

We will have to help each other out as we go over obstacles. Participants should be willing to help others and to help spot vehicles over large obstacles. A positive and  friendly attitude is required.

Disclaimers:

We could hit snow on the trail, fast moving water or washed out sections. If these become impassable I will reroute us to the lookout of French Meadows Reservoir, this would be a great place to have lunch as well.

Please repost up if you’re in so I know who to wait for at Georgetown.

Going: Josh, Jeff, & Roy

A day in the Jeep on the trail priceless!

This has been one of best attended runs in the past. I'm surprised that we only have four rigs going so far. Hopefully we get a few more rigs/people to join us.

My buddy Chris wants to join us. His rig will meet the requirements a little. Talking him into not selling it. He will trailer it up.

Lynda & I will not be attending this year.

Be aware of the conditions downhill of the stair steps at the creek crossing is now the full lake. Suggest to walk down & check it out before driving down, where’s there’s no turnaround. Be especially cautious, like Strawberry, there’s a lot of water everywhere.

Have fun…

I would love to ride down there and see that spillway just for fun.  Grab some food and my camera and go - I might put something together for that.  (Sorry Josh. I'll start another thread for that.)

But, do have fun, be careful and take lots of pics.

Comms

Gold Hills Posse frequency 1

or

CB Channel number 10

We will use the option that works best for the group.

I’m packed up and ready to go. My son (riding shotgun) and I plan to meet you all in Georgetown.

I also packed my chain saw and about 3/4 small can fuel in case we need it.

For comms I vote for HAM / Posse V1 since I packed my handheld HAM (and because I can’t find my CB lol).

Looking forward to tomorrow!
