Is there someone who can lead the Outer Limits pre-run in the event that I have to cancel? I know Brian can't make it but hopefully Kris or someone else who has participated in the Outer Limits pre-run and or the Outer Limits Run can take over if I can't make it. At this time my participation at Sierra Trek is also uncertain. My stepmother has been battling pancreatic cancer since October. Unfortunately chemotherapy proven unsuccessful and she is in a very rapid state of decline. Today we are discussing the possibility having her transition into hospice care. Obviously the road ahead for her is very unpredictable and I am unsure if I will be able to attend these two events due to her needs and the potential that she may die at any time in the near future. At this stage, I can't see myself attending the Outer Limits pre-run given her current situation. Should she die before the pre-run or Sierra Trek, I will need to take care of her affairs. I will do my best to try to be there if the situation allows. However, if someone can be available to function in my place if needed, I would be very appreciative.

Sorry to hear about your family's troubles. Wishing you and them the best.

I am not a member yet. I would like to participate in this run with your group. I am new to coordinated off-roading.  Got my first Jeep 6 months ago, but not new to being off road by myself. My current setup is a 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Willies with 37's. I did run Bear valley loop trail alone last Sunday. I would like to go with a group to learn more.

I will keep an eye on the forums to make sure this run is still going to happen.

Also, the trail looked good to me however, last Sunday was the first time i have ever been on this trail so i don't have anything to compare to.

I'm so sorry Jeff.  Please let us know if there is anything we can help with.

I see that Kris has offered to manage the effort in your place.  I too will be there, but this is my first time on this specific trail.

Thanks Brad. Having you guys take care of the pre-run is a huge help for me. We put my stepmom in home hospice care two weeks ago and have been staying at her house taking care of her ever since. Hopefully for her benefit, it will be over soon.

Unfortunately we have family conflicts as well and won’t be able to make the pre run/bbq in Truckee/Signal peak run. We will be at Sierra Trek barring any other issues that like to pop up. We will be helping with the Outer Limits run.

Jeff, our thoughts and prayers are with you, I know how this time is going for you and your family. Look forward to seeing you when we can.

Jeff - We're sorry to hear about your stepmother & fully understand your situation. As you know, we don't participate in this event, giving more opportunities to those that can. But in this case, should the need arise, we can contribute.

Weather is calling for lows in the 40's, highs in the 70's and thunderstorms for Truckee on Saturday. Anyone attending the run should be prepared for that.

Can I get an updated rig count for this run. It has been a long time since some of you expressed interested or indicated that you were planning to go. We need to know who to expect at the Shell station in Truckee before departing for the trail as I don't want to leave someone behind or wait there for someone who isn't actually going. Please note that the run details are contained in the first post in this thread. This is a maintenance and planning run so please bring trail maintenance tools and equipment. I will have a chainsaw (typically not needed on this trail), manual and battery powered shears and a shovel. Be prepared for inclement weather just in case. Kris, are going to bring all your usual signage? I will bring a roll of flagging tape for marking the trail route. In reviewing this thread here is who I believe is attending so please confirm or correct me if I'm wrong:

Me (Jeff)

Brad - Confirmed (with Kathleen and Garett)

Kris

Jeff L.

Dale M.

And not confirmed yet or unsure to me are:

Chris C.

Anthony and Amy

John Mac.

Thanks!

Confirmed I am in but I can also haul one of the trailers up to meadow lake and catch up to you guys if that makes more sense for supporting the event. And yes, I will bring signage and a staple gun.

I'm bringing hand loppers and a hand-electric chainsaw.  Plus gloves.  Let me know if I need to bring a larger saw or anything else.

Thanks Brad. Foresthill ran the trail last weekend and they said it was fine. I don't think we will need a larger saw.

Anyone have 2 extra seat for tomorrow.  I'm getting a bad vibration out of my front end and not sure if i will have it figured out by morning.  If not, I was still wanting to go and bring my daughter.  Thanks, Chris

Will there be someone doing a "make member" bbq? Some reason I think I saw that somewhere, but can't find it now. (209) 663 6412

Jerry here (FJ Cruiser)... I'm planning on coming. I've got 3 open seats, but the back seat of the FJ is kind of cave-ish. Looks like Chris has some options. thumbs-up

Jeff... sent a PM with my mobile just in case. See you tomorrow!
