No worries, I plan to use them for my gear install when I get the mulla saved up. I tried to get OTRT to price match, but they couldn't come close.
Side note though, the $999 includes the gears, install kit and labor. They will charge extra for the gear oil.
If you need any feedback, Brett used them for his re gear.
Um...what?

Thanks Greg!!!
I take my Jeep to the Chop Shop for new gears on Saturday.
I'll pick it up the Saturday after that. Now the big question...
Do I go 4.88s or 5.13s with my manual transmission and 37" tires???
I was pretty set on 5.13s, but the guy at Chop Shop is trying to talk me into 4.88s for my setup. Said he will do either one, but says the 4.88s are preferred for manuals with 37s. Hmmm...

John, for what it's worth, we just had 5:13s put in with 37" tires and it seems to be working nicely. We did have 4:56s with the 37s and it was too high. Silver is a manual as well.

Thanks for your input. I've been researching this for hours and it's driving me crazy. Most shops say 4.88s while most internet posters are torn between 4.88s and 5.13s. Maddening...

John, if driving our Jeep would help, please do so anytime.

I'm running 5.38s with 38" tires and think it rides great. I easily cruise in 6th gear at around 60mph and up on flat and mild hills. 5th gear for the steeper hills on the freeway heading to the mountains. Did the Rubicon day run without issue running the 2.72:1 t-case as well (a few stalls here and there).

I wouldn't go 4.88s. I plan to do 5.13s or 5.38s when I do gears. What do you like when your offroad? Crawling like a Toyota or speeding through?
Have you seen this chart?

Do 5.13s the only down fall to them over the 488s is over a year you will spend 15 dollars extra in gas when street cruising but will be slightly better off road and If you ever did go bigger on the tire just that much better.
If I could fit something in the mid to high 5s in mine I would but first off they don't fit and I was also stuck with the 4 speed slush box by the wife and have a 1980s Era type motor. Not that appropriately set up 3 pedal, quad cam, real interior piece of equipment you have

I'm thinking 5.13s, it was my original thought before the Chop Shop guy put 4.88s in my head. Seems to be working well for others.
Probably because they are flat landers out in Dixon where everything requires at least an hour and a half on the freeway to access. If this is a weekend rig and not a daily driver or you commute isn't a half hour on the freeway then 5.13s are the better choice. The 4.88s make more sense for daily freeway use and are also a stronger gearset than 5.13s in an engineering sense. Based on the number of people running the 5.13s trouble free the strength issue seems to be irrelevant.
