OfflineSierra Trek will be held August 7-10, 2025. The cub will again be leading the Outer Limits Run on the Bear Valley Loop Trail on Saturday August 9th. You can attend Sierra Trek as a volunteer (called a committee member) or as a regular attendee. Committee members receive a discounted registration rate of $125 per person (regular registration is $300/person but there are lower rates for camping and meals only; i.e. no 4X4 run included). The registration fee for committee members includes meals plus one committee run in addition to the Outer Limits Run. Committee members can also pay an extra fee to participate in an additional run. Meals include dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You are on your own for Thursday breakfast and all lunches. There are several new runs this year including some overlanding trips (link for run descriptions: https://cal4wheel.com/sierra-t.....scriptions).
There are a number of positions open for committee members. Since the club has agreed to lead the Outer Limits Run, it is important that we have six to eight rigs to assist in leading the run. In addition, there are a number of other committee positions that Sierra Trek is looking to fill. Those positions include but are not limited to helping cook or serve breakfast(s) or dinner(s), spotting/assisting on winch hills and a variety of other jobs.
If your are interested in becoming a committee member please post your area of interest in this thread (i.e. Outer Limits Run, winch hill/spotting aid, meals, etc.) or see me with any questions. If you are interested in being a committee member please post the names in this thread of anyone in your group who would like to serve as a committee member. I will need to submit those names to the registration team and give you a special registration link in order for you to receive the committee member discount. Please do not share the committee member registration link with anyone else. Once I have a complete list of committee members I will submit that list to the registration team and will send you the committee registration link at that time. Cost for committee members is $125. You can sign up for additional runs or purchase apparel when you register online.
If you are registering as a regular individual (i.e. not as a committee member) here is the link: https://cal4wheel.com/events/sierra-trek. The standard registration fee is $300 per person plus $40 for any additional runs.
I will also be posting a separate thread in the future for a pre-run on the Bear Valley Loop Trail, which we will do a few weeks prior to Sierra Trek (probably July 26th). The Bear Valley Loop Trail is a moderate trail and this run would be open to anyone who wishes to attend, regardless if you are attending Sierra Trek or not. The purpose of the pre-run is to plan the Outer Limits Run and to do any necessary maintenance in order to make the Outer Limits Run safe and enjoyable for Sierra Trek attendees.
A number of us are planning to go up early and camp for a week or so.

Have her call my wife. Our anniversary has been during the October Slick Rock and Deer Valley run. My wife doesn't like being on the technical trails. My wife would tell her we can always celebrate it on another day. LOL!

Yeah Jeff that's what they say but not what they mean haha. Aileen is not too fond of the Rubicon Run after 4th of July because it either lands on her birthday or our anniversary.

it's been a while since I was able to participate in this event.
Does registering to support the outer limits run tie you to all the days, vs. say Friday/Saturday?
The registration fee is the same regardless of how much you participate except, you can opt to pay more to participate in additional runs beyond those available with the standard registration. We can probably sneak a few unregistered rigs in on the run if you are interested in just participating in the Outer Limits Run.

Thank you Jeff but I am looking into registering and participating - I'm just not sure of my schedule yet.

@Jeff R ... my friend, Sean McClain, will be joining me again this year too. He'll be my wrong seater again, so not sure if you need his name too or not...
We will likely come up Tue. night after work again this year. Hoping the Posse can pull together the same type of campsite arrangements as last year - I thought it worked really well.

OfflineWe had a Sierra Trek planning meeting last night. They are looking to get raffle prizes ASAP so that they can get an inventory of items for the raffle. The club had discussed donating a prize or prizes for the raffle. I have the contact information for the committee member who is in charge of the raffle. She is local and can make arrangements to pick up raffle prizes and store them at Cal 4X4 headquarters and then they will bring them to Trek in a trailer.
I had suggested to Brad and Kris in a text that we might want to consider donating a Blackstone griddle. There are many types but I think a 22 inch tabletop one would be great for off-roaders. Or we could consider a different model (maybe one with legs) or something entirely different. Would it be possible to make a decision and purchase something in the near future so that we can get it to the Trek raffle organizer? I tried to post an amazon link but it doesn't work. The griddle griddle is about twenty dollars cheaper on Amazon than it was at Costco.
Thanks!
