Does that look right?

Yes, that looks like you have the correct runs.

Thank you. I am looking forward to the event.

I am hoping to make this with possibly a kid or 2 along for the ride.  I won't know for sure for a month or so.  That is during the peak tournament travel season for soccer and I won't get the new schedule until the beginning of June.  The girls are driving me crazy because we haven't been out in months.  I told them they could stop playing soccer but they didn't like that idea.

I had so much fun last year I went out and bought a 4 Runner!  Wouldn't miss it!  I will be up Friday - since Thursday is the first day of school and it's sort of frowned upon to miss it (being the teacher and all).  Hopefully, I'll be bringing John's wife, Aileen, up with me.  I can't wait!  I believe I'm a committee member - so add me to the list, please.

Being my first Trek, how many jerry cans do people usually bring along?

I usually bring an extra five gallons. But because I will be up there for several days before, and because I need to keep up with Roy and Romika, I'm going to bring more fuel.

For my own peace of mind, I will probably bring 2 Jerry cans.

3.6 JKU on 37's: I did the committee river run, went to winch hill 4 (I think that was the one we worked), and then the outer limits run and made it to a gas station in Truckee just fine. If you have the space though, it can't hurt grin

We had a Sierra Trek planning meeting last night. They are looking to get raffle prizes ASAP so that they can get an inventory of items for the raffle. The club had discussed donating a prize or prizes for the raffle. I have the contact information for the committee member who is in charge of the raffle. She is local and can make arrangements to pick up raffle prizes and store them at Cal 4X4 headquarters and then they will bring them to Trek in a trailer.

I had suggested to Brad and Kris in a text that we might want to consider donating a Blackstone griddle. There are many types but I think a 22 inch tabletop one would be great for off-roaders. Or we could consider a different model (maybe one with legs) or something entirely different. Would it be possible to make a decision and purchase something in the near future so that we can get it to the Trek raffle organizer? I tried to post an amazon link but it doesn't work. The griddle griddle is about twenty dollars cheaper on Amazon than it was at Costco.

Thanks!

I believe we approved the griddle at the meeting.  You are empowered!  Purchase it and save the receipt for reimbursement.  No need to delay.

Only having 1 person in the vehicle, and packing for light camping tends to leave space. No cooler because all my food will be dehydrated or freeze dried and I prefer to hammock camp so my gear is small.

I take 1 5-gallon jug and generally dont need it, but dump it in for peace of mind (my fuel gauge is accurate to about half tank, lol...). Unless you get like 3MPG... I cant see you needing more than 5 gallons...

I bring an extra 3 gallons for the TJ and it has a smaller gas tank than the JK and JL.  That gets me through the Committee Run and Outer Limits Run without any issues.

Hi Eric and Dawn,

I submitted your names as potential committee members (i.e. volunteers) for Sierra Trek. I sent you a PM with the committee member registration link and some additional registration information so that you can register and get the committee member discount. Please let me know that you got the PM.

Thanks, Jeff

Hi yall! If it's not to late I would love to join in the committee volunteer Outer Limits run. Jerry Spurgin.  If you are already maxed out that's okay, I'm pretty late responding.

Based on my understanding (from what I read), Posse isn't on the hook to help serve any of the meals at Trek, or did I miss something? I was talking to a few members of Sierra Treasure Hunters over Memorial Day weekend and they mentioned their club is signed up to help serve. I will be up Wednesday, and am only signed up for our Outer Limits and the Creek Poker Run. Thinking volunteering for KP (officially or not) would help make myself useful.

Any information that I missed?

Friday is our off day. If you or anyone else wants to volunteer for anything else, let me know what and when and I can put you in touch with the appropriate committee chair. In the mean time, I will reach out to the Trek president and see what areas they may need help with. I will be working winch hill five on Friday with the Forest Hill Four Wheelers club. I don't know my shift time yet but they might want some additional help if anyone is interested. It's close to camp and not too technical unless you take the buggy line, so it's a fun and an easy winch hill to work.

I am not experienced with winching but can drag cable if needed. I personally don't need to be an "official worker" in order to pitch in to help where an extra set of hands would be useful. As we get closer, I will keep in touch so that I can find a way to make myself useful

Often the most important job on a winch hill is moving and stacking rocks! Grunt work!!!!!
